ROE Deer(capreolus capreolus). The roe deer are native
to the UNITED KINGDOM and have given sportsman great sport for a many
years.
The biological structure of the Roe deer is as follows.
The male Roe deer is known as a BUCK.
The female Roe deer is know as a DOE.
The young Roe deer are know as fawns or kids.
The Roe deer buck stand on average 1 metre in size and is a gingery
brown in colour. The buck being the male is the only member of this
species to grow antlers upon his head.
The Roe deer is much like a family and stick together for the majority
of the year.
The Roe doe will give birth to her new born fawn or kids around SPRING
time each year and this can be from a single fawn or as many as triplets.
Each year the buck will shed his antlers and produce a new set. The
process as the antler is growing is known as being in velvet.(picture
